So You Have a Room-mate…

Living with a new room-mate in university is a big adjustment for a freshman. The fundamentals of basic etiquette go a long way in fostering an easygoing atmosphere of respect and harmony between you and your new room-mate. For many students, the following tips may seem like common sense; however, many students have never experienced the need to modify their behavior in order to share a living space with another person.

 

More than Words

The old saying of “sticks and stones can break my bones, but names will never hurt me” has been used for many years. Unfortunately this is not true. Words can hurt terribly. Oftentimes people with cruel intent or fits of temper spew out words that hits you like a spear. Words have the capacity to hurt just as much as sticks and stones; in some cases even more.

 

How True is 2012?

Do you believe the story of 2012? There is a persistent rumour mentioning that December 21, 2012 is the date when the world ends, or that it might be the beginning of a new era. But what does the word “apocalypse” actually mean? We often use it to refer to the end of the world or the “revelation at the end of the age”, but it carries different meanings in different beliefs.
